WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

TSTC is seeking a part-time Communications Specialist who will help the Company develop and implement corporate communications strategies to internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a general background in marketing, communication and promotional outreach. As communications specialist, you will develop corporate communications strategies and implement those strategies as planned for the year.

The position is responsible for the quality and effectiveness of the TSTC brand and will help implement strategies that will promote our brand to our clients, employees and potential applicants. The Corporate Communications Specialist has specific responsibility for a variety of promotion, marketing and communications related activities including, but not limited to, managing to a corporate communications calendar, drafting newsletters and other communiques; defining the TSTC social media presence; promoting the TSTC brand through the development of marketing materials; coordinating special events; engaging the TSTC team; and developing unique and brand standard communications for our clients, employees and other stakeholders. This is a part time, non-exempt, W-2 hourly position for approximately 40-45 hours per month.

  • A detail oriented person who enjoys a challenge, can effectively set priorities, multi-task, and articulate procedure requirements
  • Comfortable in partnering with managers and senior level staff to assess communications needs and to execute the processes for reaching out stakeholders
  • Capable of meeting quick turnaround timelines, has a strong sense of urgency, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and developing communications outreach materials to reach stakeholders
  • Passionate about helping the company promote the TSTC brand to internal and external stakeholders

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Work closely with company management to develop and execute corporate communications outreach strategy
  • Write and draft newsletters, press releases, Company award nominations, announcements, web content, executive briefs and other outreach materials
  • Help with defining and developing TSTC Social media presence
  • Create and maintain a corporate communications calendar
  • Design and format communication outreach materials and other marketing materials as assigned
  • Assist with coordination of the Community outreach activities and provide marketing and communications support
  • Coordinate special events for TSTC corporate as needed, which may include full event coordination, which could include, but not be limited to, coordination with venues and contractors, making arrangements for catering, scheduling of event rooms, equipment, logistics, photography, and managing attendees
  • Other tasks as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School degree and can demonstrate requisite knowledge
  • 2-5 years of paid business experience in Communications or marketing
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and re-prioritize tasks
  • Ability to identity, draft and write relevant content that will appeal to our stakeholders
  • Be able to occasionally participate in special events on the weekends and at night as needed
  • Proven record of accomplishment in developing and implementing ‘out of the box’ communication strategies
  • Experience in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

Applicants selected must be a U.S. Citizen.  A government security clearance is not required for this position but the successful candidate must pass a comprehensive background check screening process.
